get you good. I don't really want to go song by song here. So I will just say the vocals are excellent. Really when anybody makes over the top statements about Donna Jean they probably have not taking the time to really listen to her harmonies. Jerry sings, Bob sings, Phil Sings, Donna Sings Really all the vocalists are in their prime here. Ouch -cut in He's Gone Sounds like Phil's Bass is blow torching Jack Straw but wow the vocals are tight. I am looking at this set list and wondering if anything is missing from this show because Jack Straw did NOT sound like the end of Set One? No that seems to be it according to SET LIST PROJECT.

nature of the 1972 era. The jams started getting less intense and more drawn out. Songs like 'playin' illustrate this very well. What the band does with Cold rain and snow is slow it down and soften it up- then not play it again for 8 months. The sound quality here is decent. I enjoy it fien enough to jam it out. But back to cold rain and snow- this song was only played 11 times in 1972- and they did a lot fo shows, and was only played 8 times in 1971 after being exausted 34 times in rotation in 1970. But with only 2 more versions in '73 after this and just 1 in 1974 (10/20 winterland) then the hiatus, this song was played just 3 more times over a 3 year period- virtually a cameo in 1976 for 8 appearances then just 2 in 1977. So for a song that was integral to the dead fan sing alongs and dead anthems- it was played just a couple dozen times in a 6 year period from '73-'79- which is a lot of dead shows. The son was in steady rotation for 5-10 times per year for the rest of the bands life. I like this show. The china cat rider is a total masterpiece!! Oh I should add that while there is some hiss- it is mostly between the songs...its not that bad but really more like a 3.5 start show.
One of the very best China>Riders prior to the "Feelin' Groovy" Jam, and the legendary jams on He's Gone and Truckin>The Other One>Eyes>Morning

Typical set list for the period, excellent show, grainy and slightly distorted but warm incomplete recording.

on here for FREE!!!! For a poor Head like me a resource such as the Internet Archive is indispensable. Truly a gift that Jerry would be more than proud of. If you are looking for ways to "tape" these shows onto your computer shoot me an email at gerryjarcia42@gmail.com. I can most definitely pass along a few tips that will help all of those "internet tapers" out there. Keep it free, just like they wanted it to be. 2 stars for sound quality 4.3 for performance

It's not a Charlie Miller Transfer, but it's better than nothing. The audio from China Cat to "The Promised Land" is muffled a little. The sound returns to a more listenable quality from The Other One and Eyes of The World. Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Listen to the GRATEFUL DEAD. Thanks for the love.
